The president of Pays de la Loire Chamber of Trades and Crafts, Joël Fourny and his wife, took the lead on visiting the campus of Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages, along with Philippe Bely and his wife, the president of Chamber Trades And Crafts De Loire-atlantique, the director of the training center of Pays de la Loire University of Trades and Crafts, Olivier Charrier, and David Ruffin, the international exchange representative of Pays de la Loire Chamber of Trades and Crafts, attended meetings and signed the memorandum of understanding.

President Chen, Mei-Hua signed the memorandum of understanding, committing the future cooperation. She stated, “Wenzao French Department, with over 800 students, has the largest number of people studying French out of all schools in Taiwan. I appreciate Pays de la Loire Chamber of Trades and Crafts providing the students studying French in Wenzao with professional internship opportunities and offering trainings in museums, hotels, wineries, monasteries, castles and historic theme parks, in order to achieve the educational goal of training students to apply foreign language learning in professional fields.

The professional expertise processed by the French crafts industry lied the foundation of the French economy. Joël Fourny, the President of CMA Pays de la Loire, delivered his speech saying that he was especially touched by the cooperation with Wenzao University. He stated, “Compagnie Maritime d'Affrètement (CMA) is currently engaged in international exchanges with 15 other countries. However, this has been the first ever signing of the memorandum of understanding with a university in Asia. We hope in the future Pays de la Loire Chamber of Trades and Crafts and Wenzao University can promote International talent training programs and the cooperation in various projects.”

Pays de la Loire is the eighth largest region in France and is recognized by the French as the region with the highest quality of life. Pays de la Loire Chamber of Trades and Crafts was established in 1925 and is under the French public administration. It was amalgamated with 5 provincial chambers of commences of the region and has over 69,000 companies and businesses, offering 200,000 job opportunities. The Regional University of Trades and Crafts has 5 training centers, 4,500 industry partnerships, 5,500 young apprentices in the training program, 7,500 adults engaged in advanced studies and 600 international exchange students.
In order to actively promote the talent cultivation in Asia, after the signing of the memorandum of understanding with CMA and Wenzao University, the students of Wenzao will be able to apply their foreign language skills in the tourism industry, setting an important milestone in the practice of international talent cultivation specializing in foreign languages.

The representatives of Pays de la Loire Chamber of Trades and Crafts conducted a seminar with the Wenzao students after the meeting. Olivier Charrier, the director of the training center of Pays de la Loire University of Trades and Crafts specially introduced the content of the training course and answered students’ questions, creating a quality academic atmosphere. The academy departments and centers will promote this internship opportunity, in the hopes of maintaining close cooperation with Pays de la Loire Chamber of Trades and Crafts in the future. Through the academic exchanges, it is hoped that the competitiveness of Wenzao students can be enhanced through the interaction and cooperation of the partners combining overseas experiences which in turn leads to a multi-win situation.
