In response to declining birthrates, governments and institutions of higher education around the world are investing resources to develop global recruitment strategies. To help Taiwan stand out in this competitive field, on October 8 FICHET hosted an International Admissions Marketing Strategy Conference at Taipei Medical University to discuss topics including English-taught programs, sources of foreign students, admissions availability for foreign students[.1] , scholarships (government, private, school) and national brand building for higher education. The discussions raised concrete proposals, and the meeting minutes have been compiled into a strategy document for submission to the relevant authorities as a basis for the formulation of national admissions policies for overseas students. Participants in each group enjoyed an enthusiastic discussion, with 96% of attendees reporting a high degree of satisfaction with the proceedings.
