FICHET is sending a delegation led by Mon-Chi Lio, Political Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Education, to attend the NAFSA 2023 Annual Conference Expo. Taking place in Washington, D.C. from May 30 to June 2, this is a major event for fostering international dialogue on education, and FICHET is participating to advance Taiwan-US collaboration in higher education and to promote Taiwanese universities and colleges.

As borders reopen and international exchanges resume, the Foundation for International Cooperation in Higher Education of Taiwan (FICHET) organized a full-day seminar with the goal of better preparing international affairs personnel in promoting and managing international cooperation initiatives. The seminar, named “Cross-Cultural Communication in International Cooperation & Conferences,” took place on Friday, April 14th at Tamkang University’s Taipei campus. It was attended by 64 international affairs staff from 44 universities and colleges across Taiwan.

The "Taiwan Education Fair in Thailand" event will be held on August 23-28 2023, by Taiwan Education Center (TEC) in Thailand and universities in Taiwan for providing information on higher education in Taiwan, admission and enrollment, scholarships, degree or non-degree programs offered by Taiwanese universities.

To attend APAIE 2023 in Bangkok Thailand from March 13-17, the Foundation for International Cooperation in Higher Education of Taiwan (FICHET) has organized a university delegation led by Dr. Nicole Yen-Yi Lee, Director General of the Department of International and Cross-strait Education of the Ministry of Education. The delegation includes 33 Taiwan’s higher education institutions, with a total of 70 representatives, aiming to expand all levels of educational collaboration.

The past decade has seen the gradual internationalization of Taiwan’s higher education system, though international enrollment at Taiwan’s colleges and universities has fallen steeply over the past three years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As the threat of COVID recedes and international exchanges begin to recover, the Foundation for International Cooperation in Higher Education in Taiwan (FICHET) continues its biennial survey of overseas students in Taiwan to better understand their motives for coming to Taiwan, their general conditions during their stay, and their intention of staying on after graduation. The survey was conducted at universities throughout Taiwan from November 28 to December 21, 2022, and a total of 4,691 valid responses were collected.
